김대유(Kim Daeyou, b. 1990)는 일상에서 스쳐 지나가는 순간들이 기억과 지각, 상상을 통해 어떻게 겹겹이 쌓이는지를 탐구하는 작가다. 그의 작업은 길가의 식물, 시시각각 변하는 그림자, 익숙한 풍경과 같은 평범한 장면에서 출발해 눈에 보이는 것과 기억되는 것, 감각되는 것이 조용히 포개지는 공간으로 흘러간다. 그의 회화 속 장면은 구체적이면서도 어딘가 미묘하게 낯설다. 반복해서 마주한 풍경은 감정의 잔상과 지각의 흔적이 새겨진 이미지로 변하며, 익숙한 것과 상상된 것 사이에 고요한 긴장감을 형성한다. 김대유의 회화는 해석을 하나로 확정하지 않은 채, 각 이미지가 친숙하고 알아볼 수 있으면서도 완전히 닿을 수 없는 상태로 머물게 한다.

김대유 (Kim Daeyou, b. 1990) is an artist who explores how fleeting moments from everyday life become layered through memory, perception, and imagination. His work begins with ordinary scenes, such as street plants, shifting shadows, and familiar landscapes, and lets them drift into a space where what is seen, remembered, and felt quietly overlap. The scenes in his paintings are concrete, yet subtly unfamiliar. Landscapes encountered repeatedly become images marked by emotional residue and traces of perception, carrying a quiet tension between the familiar and the imagined. Kim’s paintings hold interpretation in suspension, allowing each image to remain close, recognizable, and yet just out of reach.
